Member One FCU Employees “Pay to Park” for Carilion Children’s

Our current climate has us thinking back to the days when we used to hang out with our awesome Miracle Families and our wonderful Corporate Partners. Soo… today I’d like to dedicate this #ThrowbackThursday to one of our #CUforKids partners, Member One Federal Credit Union!

Towards the end of February, Member One Federal Credit Union in Roanoke, VA asked us to come and paint a special CMN parking spot at their office. Que our best Bob Ross impersonations!

It’s safe to say we’ve had a creative bunch on our hands! Member One Federal Credit Union’s employees found another unique way to support the communities they serve. Their internal culture team, known as the One for All Committee, developed an idea to “sell” a prime parking spot on their administrative campus to raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH).

The parking spot, which is just outside the Administrative Building where more than half of the Credit Union’s 275+ employees work, is available for any employee to purchase for a $50 donation to CMNH. This donation entitles the employee to park in that highly-coveted spot for a full month. Within just 20 minutes of launching the new initiative to employees, the spot sold out for every month in 2020!
